Princess Party

This is Julie. She is my dearest friend in the entire world! We became friends when I was very sick. Her son was also very sick at the time. It was a great resource for both of us because she could help me see what my family was going through and I could help her see how her son was feeling emotionally and physically. So, a friendship was born through a need we both had, and now that I am well, and her son is on his way to recovery, we still love each other dearly. We don't spend nearly as much time crying on each other's shoulders now, as we do laughing and having fun - PRAISE God!! So, here we are laughing!

All girls want to be princesses you know. Well, guess what, we are!! We are daughters of the Most High, and so we are royal. So, we decided to have a princess party to celebrate!! This is Laura, the blonde, Julie's youngest daughter. Of course you already know my little princess, Lizzie. See how she daintily eats her treats? :)!! BUT - she is still a princess. That is what is amazing about our King. We don't have to be something we are not for Him to accept and love us. He wants us just as we are!! Wow - we are the luckiest princesses in all of the kingdoms! It is all about grace and not about rules! Whew!!

Here we are getting ready to eat our finger sandwiches and tea. Then we watched the first Princess Diaries Movie - so we could learn how to be princesses of course!

Here is Grandma Rosemary. She is my mom and also a princess. She is also a fantastic Grandma to put up with our charade! She enjoyed it as much as we did!

So, after the first movie, we came back and had cookies, scones, clotted cream (which is really just a VERY whipped cream - just sounds disgusting!) and Tea of course! Then we watched the second Princess Diaries movie. It was a wonderful day!
I actually did come away from it was some insight. First of all, in the movie, she did NOT want to be a princess. She went into it kicking and screaming to realize later it was truly what she wanted and needed. How many times have I started on a journey in the kicking and screaming mode to realize later I was on the exact path I wanted to be on? Sometimes it is hard to recognize the truth at the start.
My favorite quote from the movie: "Courage is not the absence of fear but rather the judgment that something is more important than fear. The brave may not live forever but the cautious do not live at all.

That's very true - really living involves constant risk.

I love the idea of a princess party! Maybe I can do one for my niece when she gets older.

I'm jealous!! What Fun!
I love this line:
"We are daughters of the Most High, and so we are royal."

And great analogy of the movie!
